A windshield chip can be repaired if it is no larger than a 20 cent euro coin (or 22 mm of diameter).
The chip must be at least 10 cm away from the windshield edge.
If the chip is within the field of vision of the driver, the final decision to repair or replace the glass is made by the customer.

When is it best not to repair glass damage?
Some service centres offer to repair auto glass cracks or take on a glass repair job no matter the type of glass damage. We understand how to impartially assess the feasibility of our services, and when they can be completed with a warranty of a high-quality and durable finish.
Repairs to chipped auto glass
Chips and scratches are usually small. While being small in extent, such damage has been proven by Belron® laboratory testing to grow into cracks sooner or later if nothing is done to eliminate the problem. It is possible to repair chipped auto glass! We use a special super-polymer formula to help fully restore the original strength of the repaired auto glass. Moreover, an early repair is financially beneficial: it costs a factor of 5 to 8 less than purchasing new glass on average.
